Article #125: Vintage Spring Grove Beverages Soda Bottle

 

In this new article, we are taking a look at this vintage Spring Grove Beverages bottle. This drink came out back in 1895. G.G. Ristey, who was a pharmacist in Spring Grove had a soda section in his store at the time. Many of the customers who came into the store asked to buy soda. Ristey then teamed up with his brother-in-law. Both of them bought bottling equipment and started to produce soda in order to meet the demand of the customers.

This drink was sold locally in different places. In 1913, the company was sold to Henry and Leonard Halvorson. Over time, the company changed label and bottle designs. They also added new flavors over time as well. In 1964, the company was then purchased by Arnold Morken. Morken already worked in distributing before taking over. The Morken's ran the company for a long time. In 2003, Roger Morken, who is the son of Arnold took over with his son Eric. After they ran it, they sold the company to the Hansen family. In 2014, they began using a new line of bottling, which enabled them to increase production. They are still around today continuing the long history they have.

This bottle has a picture of some trees and a deer. It is a 10 oz bottle.
